Nice, little store with delicious, homemade food. I got the taboule salad and a tart, and both were awesome. The owner is also super friendly. If you are in a rush, this isn't the right store though since it takes a while to get things ready if they're not baked goods.

I can't believe I hadn't found this place until I randomly spotted it on Google Maps. I've walked by the Colonnade SO MANY TIMES and never had any idea there was this little cute and homey mom and pop cafe! Hunted it down to see if the cafe was still there, and there it was!

The gentleman was so kind and went above and beyond when I asked questions. He said he makes everything in his kitchen next to the register except for the spinach pastries (folded in three or four ways). We got spinach quiche, almond croissant, peach tart, and chickpea salad.
Total was $22.50.

There were sweets to savories including quick lunch options - sandwiches and salads. The selection might be rather small, but that way you know he keeps things fresh and he's specialty is focused! I personally think it's so much better than seeing all kinds of things that's been sitting for days or just not taste good!

I ate the almond croissant on my way home so no pic, but WOW!!!!!!!! Seriously! I love croissants and care greatly about their quality. It was so crispy on the outside, and buttery and flaky on the inside. I There was good amount of almond filling and it was mildly sweet, pronouncing natural almond flavor more than anything else. I loved it!! I mauled it before I got home.

Don't be fooled by the size of the broccoli quiche! It's so filling! I loved how the crust was still so dry (not soggy) even after leaving it in the fridge for all day. The texture was so good and the filling had good balance of cheese and egg. Not too cheesy or too eggy. The texture was dense and creamy and the roasted broccoli provided good substance, flavor, and texture to the overall richness.

The chickpea salad tasted homemade! And the fresh parsley adds freshness to it. I would've personally liked it a little more tangy, but generally speaking it was not too salty or overly dressed-- tasted natural, fresh and homemade.

Lastly, the peach tart also didn’t disappoint! We ate it the next day so the crust got a little soggy on the bottom, so I’ll suggest to eat it while it’s still fresh. The custardy filling and peach went well together and the sweetness of it was just right between the peach and the creamy filling.

Overall impression is that the gentleman has good palate and skills to pull off delicious homemade style (not too fancy but flavorful and wholehearted made). I felt like he really cares about what he provides to his customers and gently wrapped everything for us. To top it all off, he was very kind and friendly 🙂 A visit to this little cafe my heart warm and belly happy.

They have a handful of tables and a small fountain right across as well. Such a cute place, but SUPER hidden! I just hope they'll be more visible so other people can really enjoy their delicious goodies they have to offer!!

Side note: business hours are Tue to Sat from 9am to 5pm

Unexpectedly found this adorable cafe while shopping. The owner was super friendly! His wife makes the pastries from scratch (the almond tart was super yummy) and she owns the lingerie shop a few doors down. This likely will be a go to spot for me. I'm rarely in a hurry and the great conversation is priceless!

We were shopping nearby and wanted some coffee. We decided to drop by La Cafe Creme after discovering them on Google Maps and seeing the positive reviews.

We ordered a Cafe Latte, Spiced Chai, Quiche of the Day, and almond dessert tart. We enjoyed our food and beverages in a nice, quiet environment.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for a small bite in a comfy environment.

Convenient parking in the Southlake Avenue parking lot. Entrance from along Lake Avenue as well as from the parking area. Love their special made treats.

It was my first visit. I got a ham and veggie quiche and a chocolate chips cookie. I enjoyed having them with my husband. Next time I want to try their tarts!
