We love this grocery store! They always have what we want and need, and the prices are extremely fair. We also buy Fuel here, and they have premium fuel without ethanol in it, which is what we really enjoy running in our vehicles.

The Independence HyVee catered my Retirement dinner party. The food was superb and the catering manager Murray Brookman was absolutely fantastic. Murray was professional and outgoing from day one. He guided me through the process and made my planning flow with ease. Murray knows the catering business and his staff were phenomenal during the dinner party. I HIGHLY recommend Murray Brookman and his staff to do your event you will not be disappointed. Independence HyVee has the BEST OF THE BEST with Mr. Murray Brookman and his catering team. Thank you sooo much Murray for making my retirement party the talk of KC the food and the service was FABULOUS and I really appreciate you. 😊 I can’t wait to use you and HyVee for my next event. I always shop at this Hy-vee great staff and products. It has a Starbucks inside and a walhburger that has a great happy hour, so if you stop in during, then go get some happy hour drinks. When I go to the butcher department, they're always super helpful with seafood and the cuts of meat I want. I switched all my RX to this location as well because it's much more efficient than the walgreens I was going to.

I don’t usually buy more than one case of soda at a time but if it’s advertised, if a sign on the shelf says buy two get one free I’m gonna put it in my cart. If it rings up and still tries to charge me, the manager shouldn’t be the only one nice to me about fixing it. The gentleman with the red beard was very kind, but the older lady quite frankly trying to look like Dolly Parton and then another I can only assume assistant manager about 5’ 6” skinny with brunette hair. Employees should be allowed to wear coats when it’s cold out, but their name tag should be on their jacket. Both ladies were very condescending and rude to me about asking for my case to be refunded to me. The manager even went back and pulled off a sign and said Coke wasn’t a part of the promotion and yet that was the first case, I pulled off the shelf. Whether I was in the wrong or not to ask for this discount, these ladies went out of their way to be nasty towards me when the manager had already started to take care of me. I always experience a problem coming to Hy-Vee whether it’s a manager or cashier being rude for no reason it will be a few months before I return to this location.

Ever since they went to express check out from self check out. It's always one cashier and wait times went from walking up and leaving in 20 seconds to standing for 5-10mins. Always one cashier. And people don't abide by the 12 or less. For being single and time is precious. I can't bring myself to go back again unless I can get in and out faster.

The store is clean and the employees are normally polite and helpful, but it is a nightmare for a disabled person to find a decent parking spot.

Hy-Vee used to be one of my favorite stores over 30 years ago but it seems like over the last 15-20 years they have had the worst produce section. Anytime I go and look at the produce I find out of date or rotten food especially the lettuce. I'm not just referring to one particular Hy-Vee store I'm referring to several Hy-Vee stores that I've gone into all over the city. It puzzles me because I don't know if they just aren't selling much produce because they charge way too much or if they actually get rotten and out-of-date produce delivered to them.
